A message from the BDJO committee chairman
Thank you for viewing our website.
The British D. J. Organisation was originally founded by a group of DJ’s in the 1960’s because they were being under cut by cowboys operating in their area.
Back in the early days no one gave much thought to Public Liability Insurance yet then as now any venue that employs a contractor or entertainer without PLI is breaking the terms and conditions of their own insurance.
The Organisation has members all over the country with more joining every year.
The main thrust of the organisation is the special low premium of just £85.00 for 12 months cover.
All memberships including the PLI premium begin on June 1st in any one year and continues to May 31st in the corresponding year. The current cost of the PLI premium inc. Membership is £85.00 for a minimum cover of five million.
If you join BDJO on or after January 1st in any one year, the premium is reduced to just £42.50 and is valid to 31st May in the same year. Around the second week in May BDJO will send out reminders to all members requesting them to renew before 1st of June.
Membership also includes a free insertion in the ‘BOOK a D. J. Section of the website, this is not compulsory and members can show their choice on the application form.
Many venues including Hotels, Leisure Complexes, Village Hall’s, & Public Buildings now require entertainers to show evidence of PLI and also a Portable Appliance Testing
Certificate (PAT) for the equipment they are employing at the time.
In addition to the low PLI premium, members have access to a wealth of both technical and legal advice based on many years experience in the entertainment business.
Please click on the PLI & Membership tab to obtain the application form.
